I wonder what happened to my comment from yesterday about this flower?
ReplyDeleteMountain Laurels have always been one of my favorite flower ever since I was a little girl. I remember the first time I saw them. I was with my Grandmother and she told me what they were called and that they were our State Flower, so we couldn't pick them. That was so long ago. I think I was around 5 or 6 at the time.
Thanks for the memories, Margo. My Grandmother was my favorite person of all my relatives. I miss her so much.
I love it when a photo stirs an emotion--that's what you told me photography is all about. It pleases me that your grandmother was your favorite. Mine too--she lived to be 103. This flower is so amazing--in the forest the clusters of white bloom are stunning but when you look at a single petal, it is incredibly intricate and lacy. AND the stamens lie in wait for a bee to come and then, fwapp, they release and powder the bee with pollen!
